Interactive Alignment in L2 Learning: The Link between Social Interaction and Psycholinguistic Phenomena

To engage successfully in conversational activities, participants need to coordinate and synchronise their talk with the of interlocutors. Apart from a set social strategies natural routines involved sequence organisation, significant contributor this goal is psycholinguistic mechanism identified as interactive alignment. The present study out examine whether alignment occurs L2 speech upper intermediate second language users who have been learning English at school for around 11 years. were group twenty Croatian students year university study, majoring English. They worked on two collaborative tasks: one carried dialogues other groups four. Their interactions analysed both quantitatively qualitatively, closely how interaction evolves unscripted task-based production.
